[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] BGF Logistics has partially withdrawn its injunction request filed against members of a truckers’ union, signaling a conciliatory move amid ongoing labor negotiations.
According to the Cheongju District Court and the company on April 27, legal counsel representing BGF Logistics withdrew the injunction request against individual union members while maintaining the filing against the Korean Public Service and Transport Workers’ Union Cargo Truckers Solidarity Division and related entities.
A company official clarified that the injunction against the union itself remains in place, while only the applications targeting individuals were withdrawn.
BGF Logistics had initially filed for an injunction on April 19 after union members blocked access to a logistics center in Jincheon, preventing delivery vehicles from operating. The move sparked controversy when it became public on April 23, just one day after negotiations between the two sides had begun.
The union criticized the company, arguing that maintaining the injunction while labeling the strike as illegal undermines the legitimacy of the negotiations.
Although both sides have held three rounds of talks, they have yet to reach an agreement and are currently engaged in a fourth round of negotiations.
The partial withdrawal is widely seen as a gesture aimed at easing tensions and facilitating dialogue.
The Cheongju District Court is scheduled to hold its first hearing on the injunction request on May 6 at 3:30 p.m.
