[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] South Korean police have decided not to refer Hanmi Pharmaceutical CEO Park Jae-hyun and another executive for prosecution over allegations of embezzlement and breach of trust.
Hanmi Pharmaceutical said on March 10 that the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency concluded there was no evidence of wrongdoing by Park and an inside director identified by his surname Park, who had been accused of breach of trust and occupational embezzlement under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
The case began in November 2024, when Hanmi Science CEO Lim Jong-hoon filed a complaint with police accusing Park and other executives of embezzlement and breach of trust.
After reviewing relevant materials and facts, police determined that the allegations did not constitute a criminal offense and decided not to forward the case to prosecutors.
Hanmi Pharmaceutical said it will review the investigation results and take necessary follow-up measures, while Hanmi Science said it will examine the police decision and consider its response.
