[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] A Jeju Air flight experienced a minor runway excursion upon landing at Da Nang International Airport in Vietnam, resulting in partial damage to the aircraft’s landing gear tires. No injuries were reported among passengers.

According to the airline industry on May 29, Jeju Air Flight 7C2217, a Boeing 737-800 that departed from Incheon, landed at approximately 12:50 a.m. (local time) on May 28. While taxiing after touchdown, the aircraft briefly veered onto the right-side runway buffer zone before returning to the main runway.

The aircraft was carrying 183 passengers at the time. Although there were no casualties, one of the aircraft's landing gear tires was torn during the incident.

Jeju Air replaced the damaged tires after all passengers safely disembarked. A replacement aircraft of the same model was dispatched from Korea to operate the return flight (Flight 7C2218).

The return flight, originally scheduled for earlier in the day, was delayed by approximately 14 hours and 38 minutes, departing from Da Nang at 4:08 p.m. on May 28.

South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is currently investigating the cause of the runway deviation, including interviews with the flight crew involved.
