[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] A prolonged legal dispute between Krafton and its subsidiary Unknown Worlds Entertainment is drawing attention as changes emerge in the publishing structure of the upcoming title Subnautica 2.

According to industry sources, the publisher name “Krafton” has recently been removed from the game’s page on Steam, leaving only Unknown Worlds listed. The title has also been excluded from Krafton’s official game lineup.

The development has sparked speculation that Unknown Worlds may be pursuing independent publishing following its conflict with Krafton.

However, experts urge caution in interpreting the change. Unknown Worlds remains listed as a subsidiary on Krafton’s official website, and cases of subsidiaries unilaterally rejecting a parent company’s publishing role are extremely rare.

Some analysts suggest the update could be procedural, potentially linked to internal changes following a recent court ruling that ordered the reinstatement of former founder Ted Gill.

The industry is closely watching how the legal dispute unfolds and whether it will lead to a lasting shift in the publishing arrangement for Subnautica 2.
