[Exclusive] Naver to establish a corporation in Saudi Arabia in the second half of this year

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Cha Hye young] Naver, which is stepping up its overseas technology exports, will establish a local corporation in Saudi Arabia.

To sum up the coverage of the Alpha economy on the 14th, Team Naver, led by ESG and Foreign Policy Representative Chae Sun-joo, will establish a local subsidiary in the Middle East based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in the second half of this year.

An official familiar with Naver's internal situation said, "I know that the Saudi Arabian government and others have high expectations for technological cooperation with Naver," and added, "Establishing a local corporation has emerged as an important task to establish realistic business for various recently concluded MOUs."

Team Naver recently signed a partnership with Aramco Digital at LEAP2024, called CES, for digital innovation in the Middle East and North Africa, including Saudi Arabia.

Aramco Digital is Aramco's digital and technology subsidiary. The main areas of cooperation are AI and the cloud.

Team Naver also signed an MOU with Saudi Arabia Public Transportation Corporation (SAPTCO) to build an intelligent transportation system.

Regarding the establishment of the Saudi corporation, Naver said, "Nothing has been decided."
