The Korea Gas Corporation said it carried out a reorganization on the 31st. It is the first reorganization since President Choi Yeon-hye took office last month.
First of all, reflecting the Ministry of Strategy and Finance's plan to streamline the organization and manpower of public institutions, a total of nine organizations were reduced and the quota was reduced by 102. As a result, the organization of the Korea Gas Corporation will be reduced from 240 to 231. The quota will be reduced by 2.4% from 4,194 to 4,092.
The headquarters-level reorganization established a strategic headquarters to actively respond to changes in the energy market. The Hydrogen Business Headquarters and the New Growth Business Headquarters will be reorganized into a performance-oriented business structure through 'selection and concentration'. The corporation explains that it seeks to streamline organization and manpower and secure future growth engines at the same time.
The Safety Management Headquarters was reorganized into the Safety General Office under the direct control of the Vice President of Safety Technology to strengthen the Safety Management Control Tower, and to strengthen the consistency of the work process by establishing a construction headquarters that integrates construction design and construction departments.
In addition, the company will establish a financial department by integrating each scattered financial organization, while establishing an import customs department and reinforcing manpower in the trading sector to strengthen the function of purchasing liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is its core capacity.
