[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung Electronics is speeding up the implementation of digital twin by introducing NVIDIA platform 'Omniverse' to its semiconductor production line.

According to the industry on the 5th, Samsung Electronics will participate in the NVIDIA conference 'GTC 2024' held in San Jose from the 18th to 21st (local time) and give a speech on the theme of 'Omnibus-based Digital Twin Fab'.

The presentation will be made by Yoon Seok-jin, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics. In this speech, Yoon introduces a digital twin semiconductor plant (fab) built on NVIDIA's omnibus platform. Plans to introduce this solution to the test line within a few years will also be revealed in detail.

A digital twin is the same implementation of a real machine or equipment in a virtual world on a computer. It is used to identify and solve problems through mock tests before making actual products. Samsung Electronics' DS division recognizes digital twin as a very important future technology.
