[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Lee Soo-man, a former general producer of SM Entertainment, said he did not participate in Kakao's tender purchase of SM.
Former general manager Lee made an official position on the 27th, saying, "There are reports on participation in the public sale, and former general manager Lee did not participate in Kakao Entertainment's public purchase of SM Entertainment."
"Even when Lee sells shares to Hive, he set the selling price at the same price as the public offer price that will be applied to minority shareholders without a separate premium on his shares," he added.
Regarding the appointment of a prosecutor at the general shareholders' meeting, he explained, "The move is aimed at investigating whether the progress and resolution of the general shareholders' meeting are carried out legally at SM's regular shareholders' meeting."
On the other hand, Kakao is known to have exceeded the target amount as a result of the open purchase of a 35% stake in SM. As a result, Kakao will become SM's largest shareholder, beating Hive, the existing largest shareholder. HIVE, who gave up the SM acquisition process, also said in a public announcement that it will participate in Kakao's open purchase.
