[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Samsung Electronics will introduce a series of low-end smartphones in the first half of this year. A total of four models are expected to be released in the first half of the year, and options for the "Galaxy A" series are expected to be offered more than ever before.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 13th that it will induce the release of low-priced handsets priced between 400,000 won and 800,000 won within the first half of this year. The plan is to increase the number of low and medium-priced phones considering the price of high-priced phones centered on premium models that cost more than 1 million won.
Earlier, Samsung Electronics launched the Galaxy A25, an entry-level terminal, in the domestic market on the 5th of last month. With a factory price of 449,900 won, it is equipped with three rear cameras (main, ultra-wide-angle and welder), optical hand stabilization (OIS), video hand stabilization (VDIS), and Exynos 1280 AP (application processor).
Samsung's next mid- to low-end phone models are the A35 and A15 series. Both models have obtained radio wave certification from the National Radio Research Institute this year. Considering that products that have usually completed radio wave certification will be released in the market within two to three months, domestic releases are not far away. Considering the price of the previous model, the A35 is expected to be the lowest price model of around 500,000 won and the A15, which was first released in the Vietnamese market, is expected to be around 300,000 won.
The other one is likely to be A55. It is the most high-end product in the Galaxy A series. The A55 is expected to carry Exynos 1480.
