[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Joycity said on the 2nd that it has won a trademark suit for its basketball game "Freestyle" in a Chinese court.

The lawsuit, which took place at the People's Court in Shanghai, China, ruled in favor of the plaintiffs in the first trial of a trademark infringement suit against Chinese local publisher Giant and game developer LMD.

The court ruled that LMD and Giant should stop infringing on Joycity's "freestyle" trademark and compensate Joycity for the economic damage it suffered.

Earlier, Joycity signed a contract with Chinese game company T2 Entertainment in 2005 and was offering the game under the name of "Street Basketball." Giant has published a basketball game called 'Ganong 1 · 2' similar to street basketball from LMD and serviced it to China.

Starting with the winning ruling, Joycity said it will expand its freestyle partnership and sternly cope with the rights and interests of users.
