Hanwha Solution will spend trillions of won in the U.S. to build a solar cell and module plant. It is the largest solar plant in the United States and is known to have invested more than 2 trillion won. Solar panels are made in the order of cell → modules (panels).
According to the business community and foreign media on the 10th, Hanwha Solution's New and Renewable Energy Division (Q CELLS) plans to build a solar cell and module plant in Bartow County, Georgia in Korea and the United States on the 11th.
It is the largest in the United States, exceeding the production capacity of the Ohio plant (1.8GW per year) of First Solar, a U.S. solar energy company.
Construction is expected to begin as early as the first half of this year and commercial production will begin next year.
Hanwha Solution has been operating a 1.7GW solar module plant in Dalton, Georgia, since 2019. In May last year, the company also announced plans to invest 200 billion won in the vicinity of the existing Dolton plant to build a 1.4GW plant.
