[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Kia will establish a sales corporation in Thailand. The Thai corporation will oversee local businesses such as sales, sales, marketing, and after-sales service (AS).

According to Hyundai Motor Group on the 17th, Kia will hold a launching ceremony on the 31st and officially launch a Thai sales subsidiary. Kia's global sales status and Thailand sales plans will be announced at the event.

However, the plan to establish a production plant there was decided to be put on hold. Kia has been negotiating with the Thai Investment Authority (BOI) since last year to establish an annual plant of 250,000 finished cars in Rayongju, eastern Thailand.

Earlier, the Thai government announced that it would produce 30% of its automobile production as electric vehicles by 2030 through an electric vehicle subsidy policy.
