Naver recruits former Woowa Bros CEO Kim Bum-joon to COO

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Naver announced on the 5th that it will establish a chief operating officer (COO) and a representative position of policy/risk management (RM) through its first reorganization in 2024.

Bumjun Kim, former representative of Woowa Bros was appointed as COO and Bongseok Yoo, former representative of policy/RM.

COO Kim has begun his role as a member of Team Naver, focusing on company-wide common functions and business organizations. Representative Yoo Policy/RM plans to take charge of external organizations such as PR, rental, legal affairs, personal information, and policy, and intensively manage company policies and risks from an integrated perspective.

In addition, Naver made its first reorganization in 2024, including the establishment of a global AI research and policy organization 'Future AI Center' (Director Ha Jung-woo) for AI safety research and responsible AI development in preparation for the future AI era.

On the other hand, with the change in the role of the RM/ policy representative, the news service-related organization was reorganized into a CEO direct organization.
