[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 10th that it has experienced three financial scandals totaling 14.7 billion won. The incidents include two cases of breach of trust, totaling 133.4 billion won, and one case of fraud amounting to 1.4 billion won.

These financial scandals were discovered during the regular inspection by the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS). The FSS began its routine inspection of KB Financial Group and KB Kookmin Bank in mid-August.

The two breach of trust incidents involved loans related to the sale of collective shopping centers. In these cases, loans were improperly granted to individuals with conflicting interests, rather than to the intended buyers. These incidents occurred in March of the previous year. KB Kookmin Bank has taken internal disciplinary actions against the involved employees and plans to file criminal charges.

The fraud case was carried out by an external party. It was discovered that in June of last year, during the loan process for a shopping center, the applicant submitted falsified documents to the bank. KB Kookmin Bank plans to file criminal charges against the external parties involved in the fraud as well.
