
[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, June 4 — South Korean streaming platform TVING said it has suffered a data breach involving unauthorized access, resulting in the exposure of users’ personal information.
According to the company, compromised data includes user IDs, names, dates of birth, gender, phone numbers and email addresses. TVING did not disclose the scale of the breach but said resident registration numbers and payment-related sensitive information were not affected.
The company said it strengthened security measures immediately after detecting the incident and is conducting ongoing monitoring. It also advised users to change passwords on other services that share the same credentials.
TVING issued an apology and said further details, including compensation measures, will be announced at a later date.
