[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Kia is recalling 137,256 vehicles in the United States due to potential engine damage concerns.

According to Reuters on Tuesday (local time), the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced the recall, citing improperly manufactured piston oil rings that could lead to engine damage.

The affected models include 2021–2023 Seltos and Soul vehicles.

NHTSA stated that the recall process will involve inspections conducted through dealerships. If necessary, affected vehicles will receive engine replacements and a free installation of software related to the piston ring noise detection system.
