[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Securities services impersonating NHN PAYCO have emerged, requiring attention.
NHN PAYCO said on the 8th that it has taken measures such as reporting illegal financial services to financial authorities due to unauthorized trademark theft under the name of "Payco Securities."
According to NHN PAYCO, some media reported the launch of the Payco securities service in early October, with the launch of PAYCO Securities, followed by a series of user inquiries.
"We took the first step on a great journey under the name of Payco Korea," they said, using the existing PAYCO Korea's mission and the name of its CEO. "We will establish ourselves as top-tier securities firms in Korea through differentiated financial solutions and further achieve third place in the industry in 2030."
PEIKKO Korea, which they put forward, is a corporation registered in Korea and is the Korean branch of PEIKKO, a Finnish construction material supplier. PEIKKO Korea's English name is 'PEIKKO', which is different from NHN Payco's FinTech service 'PAYCO'.
PEIKKO Korea is also a victim of this incident. "There have been customer inquiries that are often mistaken for Payco, a fintech service, but this is our first attempt to impersonate PEIKKO Korea at all," said PEIKKO Korea CEO Oh Jong-hwan. "We are demanding a correction from the media that posted the data, but some still do not accept the request."
NHN Payco is a subsidiary of NHN PinTech and provides simple payment services. It supports the opening of accounts in conjunction with securities firms, but does not directly operate securities services.
