[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Companies are paying keen attention to winning orders for Saudi Arabia's super-large new town construction project "Neom City."

The business community expects Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun and Hanwha Group Vice Chairman Kim Dong-kwan to participate in the "Middle East economic mission" to visit Saudi Arabia in October.

The delegation reportedly included Chairman Lee, Chairman Chung and Vice Chairman Kim. SK Chairman Choi Tae-won and LG Chairman Koo Kwang-mo are expected to be absent due to the schedule to promote the 2030 Busan World Expo.

On the government side, key officials, including Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho, new Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Bang Moon-kyu and Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong, are reportedly considering accompanying.

The main goal of the Middle East economic mission is expected to be to win the Neom City order.
