South Korean Companies Evacuate Employees and Families from Israel Amid Rising Tensions

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following Israel’s airstrikes on Iran, South Korean companies with operations in the region have begun evacuating their employees and families from Israel to neighboring countries such as Jordan.



According to industry sources on June 16, Samsung Electronics (KRX: 005930) has relocated all Korean employees and their families from its Israel Sales Subsidiary (SEIL) and Semiconductor Research Center (SIRC) to Jordan.



Local employees in Israel have transitioned to remote work and will return to the office only once their safety is fully secured.



LG Electronics, which maintains a small sales office in Israel, also evacuated its Korean expatriates and their families to Jordan over the weekend.



Hyundai Motor and Kia are reportedly reviewing measures to ensure the safety of their local staff.



As of now, no human or material damage has been reported at the Israeli operations of South Korean companies.
