Hyundai Motor Group recruits from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Motor Group has recently attracted attention by recruiting a series of high-ranking foreign ministry officials.

According to the industry on the 7th, Hyundai Motor recently recruited Kim Dong-jo, a former foreign ministry spokesman for the Blue House Public Relations Office during the Park Geun-hye administration. Kim is known to have come to work for the first time earlier this month.

Kim, a former foreign spokesman for the 32nd Foreign Affairs Examination, worked in the multilateral trade cooperation department, the protocol department, and the presidential protocol secretary's office. He was also a notable figure in the Foreign Ministry, where he served as the first secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Geneva and a councilor at the Embassy of Senegal.

The background of Hyundai Motor's recruitment of Kim is seen as its willingness to respond quickly to global issues. It is to quickly and accurately analyze internal and external policy issues by transfusing external personnel with expertise in diplomatic affairs to the organization.

Hyundai Motor recently hired former protocol secretary Kim Il-beom, who is directly under presidential chief of staff Yoon Seok-yeol, as vice president. Former secretary Kim will go to work for Hyundai Motor starting next month. Kim is famous for serving as an English interpreter for three presidents, Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun and Lee Myung-bak.

Talents from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are also expected to play a key role in global activities at the Hyundai Motor Group level, including supporting activities to host the "2030 Busan World Expo (Busan Expo)." It is also expected to work with group rental organizations in the United States and Europe.

Hyundai Motor Group currently operates offices in Washington, USA and Brussels, Belgium, respectively. In the Washington office, Robert Hood, Vice President of Government Affairs, former Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs, is in charge of the rental business.
