[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, South Korea – October 23, 2025 – A growing number of iPhone 17 users are reporting cellular connection problems, including slow or dropped data transmission, while Apple has yet to release an official statement a month after launch, fueling consumer frustration and concern.

According to industry sources and online communities, hundreds of posts have surfaced in “A Sseureum Moim (아사모),” South Korea’s largest iPhone user forum with over 2.36 million members, describing cases of cellular lag and disconnections on the new iPhone 17 series.

Similar complaints have also been reported on U.S. forum Reddit, where users are raising concerns about potential defects affecting both the iPhone 17 Pro and standard models.

Users consistently note that Wi-Fi functions normally, while cellular networks lag noticeably.

“KakaoTalk messages are delayed,” one user wrote.
“Stock trading apps execute orders more slowly,” another added.

The iPhone 17 series, officially launched in South Korea on September 19, reportedly uses the same Qualcomm X80 modem found in the previous iPhone 16 and Samsung’s Galaxy S25 — the latter showing no similar connectivity issues, suggesting the cause may lie in Apple’s software optimization.

U.S. tech outlet PhoneArena conducted a survey finding that nearly half of iPhone 17 users experienced some form of cellular performance issue.
Analysts believe the problem is software-related and fixable via update, though some consumers fear a potential hardware flaw that could impact resale values if confirmed.

Despite repeated inquiries, Apple has not provided an official explanation or timeline for resolution.
Consumers are calling for transparency and compensation should the issue prove to stem from a hardware defect.
