[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul – A fatal accident occurred on September 9 at a construction site managed by Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C) in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province. The company’s CEO, Kim Bo-hyun, visited the site immediately after the incident to oversee the emergency response.
At approximately 3:34 p.m., a subcontracted worker in his 50s was struck and killed while a crane operator was moving a steel staircase on the 26th-floor rooftop of the Prugio The Ocean apartment project in Jeongwang-dong’s Gubukseom area. The worker was pronounced dead at the scene.
The site is part of a four-building, 400-unit apartment complex scheduled for completion in February 2026.
Following the accident, CEO Kim Bo-hyun arrived at the site to lead recovery efforts and coordinate with on-site management. Police authorities have launched an investigation, interviewing witnesses to determine the precise cause of the accident.
