[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] CJ ENM, a subsidiary of CJ Group, which has been greatly criticized for drug smuggling and administration by management leader Lee Sun-ho, the eldest son of Chairman Lee Jae-hyun, is having a hard time over the drug use of Lee Sun-kyun, the lead actor of the new film "Project Silent," which is set to be distributed.

According to related industries, Project Silence is expected to be released by CJ ENM with a production cost of 20 billion won. With this year's ambitious film "The Moon" suffering a crushing defeat in the box office without attracting more than 500,000 viewers, even the release of another anticipated film, "Escape," has become uncertain due to a drug scandal involving the main actor.

Lee Sun-ho, the eldest son of CJ Group Chairman Lee Jae-hyun, was handed over to trial for smuggling drugs after returning from the U.S. through Incheon International Airport on Sept. 1, 2019, and was sentenced to three years in prison and four years of probation.

Koo Chang-geun, who heads the CJ ENM, is also under fire for not attending the parliamentary audit. CJ ENM CEO Koo, who has been in the red for three consecutive quarters since taking office, was scheduled to appear as a witness at the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee on the 26th for intensive questioning due to unilateral restructuring and corrupt PD return.

However, as Koo decided to accompany President Yoon Seok-yeol on his trip to Qatar, he was able to avoid his attendance at the inspection, but he could not avoid suspicious eyes that it was a means to intentionally avoid the inspection.
