[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Another worker accident occurred at the Shani plant affiliated with SPC Group.

Another safety accident occurred 10 months after the death of a worker at the SPL Pyeongtaek bakery in October last year.

According to SPC on the 8th, an employee in his 50s working at the Shany plant in Seongnam was caught between the mobile lift and the facility while working at around 12:40 p.m. He was taken to the hospital through a 119 report after emergency measures, and is currently preparing for surgery at the hospital with breathing back. Immediately after the accident, all production lines were shut down.

Shany is a production company that manufactures parasol bread and so on. According to the equity structure as of last year, 69.86% of related parties such as Chairman Heo Young-in and 9.8% of Paris Croissant are involved. Paris Croissant, which serves as the holding company of SPC Group, has a part of the stake, but it is more like an affiliated company where the owner family directly holds management control. Last year, Shani's sales were 278.7 billion won and operating profit was 4 billion won, with an operating profit ratio of 1.4%.

This is not the first time Shany has been caught in an accident. In October last year, a worker in his 40s got his finger stuck in a machine and was fractured last month when a worker in his 50s got stuck.

SPL is a frozen tributary production affiliate with a 100% stake in Paris Croissant.

After the accident, Heo announced an apology to the public and measures to prevent a recurrence.

In November last year, the SPC Safety Management Committee inspected the SPL and the Paris Croissant Seongnam plant, including the Shani Seongnam plant where the accident occurred, but accidents have continued.

The SPC Group invested about 16.5 billion won in the safety and health sector, including introducing safety equipment, repairing facilities and improving the working environment for about six months from October last year to March this year. According to the 'Roadmap for Safety Management', a total of 45 billion won will be invested by the end of this year.
