[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, November 19 — The Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) has begun on-site investigations into several home beauty device manufacturers over alleged violations of the Act on Fair Labeling and Advertising.

According to industry sources, the KFTC conducted inspections earlier this month at APR, DongKook Pharmaceutical, Jeon Meditech, and TONYMOLY. Authorities are examining whether these companies inflated discount rates, or briefly raised prices only to advertise steep markdowns.

The probe also aims to determine whether some firms exaggerated skincare and lifting effects when promoting their products.
