Hyundai Department Store develops 'clothing repair platform' with Hanyang University

[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Department Store Group announced on the 24th that it has recently completed the development of a model of the MVP (minimum functional product that implements only Minimum Viable Product‧ core functions) of the 'All FIT' app of the O2O (Online to Offline) clothing repair platform through industry-academic cooperation with Hanyang University Startup Support Group. It is planning to conduct an internal test of the group's executives and employees and review whether to commercialize the final app after the development of the app is completed.

Hyundai Department Store Group noted the "pain point (point where pain point· customers feel uncomfortable)" of online clothing shopping while exploring new promising businesses late last year. Even if it cannot be worn and repair is needed due to the size of each brand, the hassle of the customer having to visit the repair shop can be solved through the O2O clothing repair platform that connects the customer and the repair shop.

In order to implement the idea-oriented O2O clothing repair platform, Hyundai Department Store Group has joined hands with Hanyang University's start-up support group. It is to complement insufficient capabilities such as O2O software development and planning and to reflect the perspective and needs of the MZ generation. Lee Dong-yeop (a senior and 24 years old at Hanyang University), who specializes in app design, teamed up with Kim Ho-joon (a senior and 24 years old at Kookmin University) and Park Jung-min (a senior and 22 years old at Kookmin University) who have excellent platform development capabilities, and they completed the development of the MVP model "at first glance" in about 10 months.

Currently, when a customer takes a picture of clothes and leaves a request for repair, the app sends the shipper's estimated estimate → Customer acceptance → The final quotation after completing the repair → Customer approval and payment. Clothing collection and delivery functions are being considered in conjunction with non-face-to-face laundry apps.
