[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] It has been confirmed that a fracture occurred at the SPL bakery plant of SPC Group. The accident occurred six days after the head of the affiliate attended the parliamentary audit and apologized.

According to a media outlet, A (50s, female), who was working on a bread packaging machine at the SPL baking plant in Pyeongtaek, an affiliate of SPC, at around 3 a.m. on the 18th, fractured her little finger while working manually to adjust the gap between some parts.

An SPC official said, "Mr. A was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment and is currently recovering."

At its affiliate SPL, a worker in his 20s died after being caught in October last year, and a worker in his 50s died after being caught in a machine at a Shany bakery factory in Seongnam in August.

In particular, the accident came just six days after Shany CEO Lee Kang-sup officially apologized for the caught death in August after appearing as a witness at a parliamentary audit of the Ministry of Employment and Labor of the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee on the 12th, sparking controversy.
