[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Naver, which accompanied President Yoon Seok-yeol on a state visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, has won a digital transformation (DX) project.

Over the next five years, Naver will build and operate a cloud-based 3D digital modeling digital twin platform for five cities, including Riyadh, Madinah, Jeddah, Dammam and Mecca.

Saudi will use this for ▲ urban planning ▲ monitoring ▲ flood forecasting. In other words, Korean IT companies will build public digital services directly related to the lives of Saudi people from the first stage and even operate their own services.

Naver added that since its digital twin is an urban and national infrastructure and platform that needs continuous management along with long-term construction, it plans to build the world's best digital twin platform by covering advanced technologies such as AI· robot and cloud, which have been steadily advanced since 1784.

Naver's cloud business is also expected to grow faster if exports of cloud-based smart city technologies expand to HyperCLOVA X· SovereignAI· Sovereign Cloud in the future.

Chae Seon-joo, CEO of Naver's ESG Policy, said, "We deeply cherish the value of the hard work and sweat of our seniors who laid the foundation for Korea's economic powerhouse through exports of construction plants." and she added, "Based on solid IT technology with global competitiveness, we will create a second export boom in the Middle East."

"With this project, Naver will serve as a bridge for IT startups to export to the Middle East," she said.
