[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] NCSoft announced on December 14 that it has filed complaints against five users for using illegal programs (macros) in its new game, Aion 2.

The company confirmed on December 12 that the accused repeatedly used unauthorized programs that disrupted the in-game economy and interfered with normal gameplay. Accordingly, NCSoft submitted complaints to the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul.

Internal and external experts also identified that the accused not only used illegal macros but were involved in account sales and the distribution of in-game currency, undermining both fairness and the game’s economic system for personal gain.

Since the game’s launch, NCSoft has taken action against 72,621 accounts in 23 separate enforcement measures for violating operational policies. On December 9, the company held a live broadcast to outline further measures based on the severity of macro abuse and reiterated its strong legal stance.

NCSoft stated, “We will continue to pursue rigorous legal measures. Suspicious accounts are being continuously monitored and analyzed, and additional legal actions will be taken if violations are confirmed.” The company emphasized that legal action against macro use and other illegal programs is essential to protect the majority of legitimate players and maintain a safe and healthy gaming ecosystem.
