[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong is expected to host a New Year dinner early next year, bringing together CEOs of major Samsung Group affiliates to discuss business strategies amid a rapidly evolving global environment driven by artificial intelligence (AI).

According to industry sources on Dec. 14, Chairman Lee plans to invite top executives from key affiliates—including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and Samsung Display—to Samsung’s Seocho headquarters in Seoul for the annual New Year CEOs’ dinner.

Participants are expected to include Jun Young-hyun, Vice Chairman and Head of Samsung Electronics’ Device Solutions (DS) Division; Roh Tae-moon, President and Head of the Device eXperience (DX) Division; Choi Joo-sun, CEO of Samsung SDI; Jang Deok-hyun, CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics; and Lee Cheong, CEO of Samsung Display. The meeting will focus on reviewing the global business environment and setting strategic priorities for the year ahead.

With CES 2026—the world’s largest IT and consumer electronics exhibition—scheduled to open on Jan. 6 (local time), the gathering is likely to take place ahead of the event.

Samsung traditionally held a New Year CEOs’ dinner on Jan. 9, the birthday of late Chairman Lee Kun-hee, until 2014. The group-level event was later suspended and replaced by smaller meetings before being reinstated in 2023 following Chairman Lee Jae-yong’s appointment.

At recent dinners, Chairman Lee has emphasized market leadership, technological competitiveness, and a sense of urgency in management. Executives have also reviewed video messages highlighting the late chairman’s management philosophy.

Separately, CEOs of major Samsung affiliates are also scheduled to convene later this month at Samsung’s Human Resources Development Center in Yongin for an additional strategy meeting.
