[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The first labor union consultative body will be launched since GS Group was founded. A total of seven companies will participate, with GS Caltex, the group's flagship affiliate, at the center.
According to industry sources on the 2nd, seven affiliates of GS Group, including GS Caltex, GS E&R, GS E&C, GS Power, GS Neotech, Parnas Hotel and Incheon General Energy, will launch the "GS Group Union Council" at the Federation of Korean Trade Unions' Seoul headquarters in Yeongdeungpo on the 8th. It is the first time for a union council to be formed within GS Group.
GS Caltex is expected to be the center of the council as the number of union members is the largest at 1,600.
The reason why they set up the council is to improve the wages and working conditions of internal members.
When the council is launched, a large organization of seven companies and 2,800 union members will be created. Except for GS Caltex, the specific number of union members is GS E&R 500, 300 in GS E&C, 200 in GS Power, 80 in GS Neotech, 80 in Parnas Hotel and 70 in Incheon General Energy.
