[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Seoul, September 30 – DL Group announced that it is accelerating digital transformation initiatives across its core businesses, including construction and petrochemicals, to strengthen future competitiveness and operational efficiency.

Digital Twin in Construction

DL E&C, the Group’s construction subsidiary, introduced the industry’s first drone-based Digital Twin platform across all residential construction sites in July 2024.

Digital Twin technology replicates real-world objects and environments in a virtual 3D space, enabling enhanced process management, quality control, and safety oversight. The new drone platform allows on-site conditions to be compared directly with design blueprints, improving construction accuracy. It also uses aerial imaging to automatically calculate earthwork volumes, maximizing cost management efficiency. DL E&C plans to further enhance the system by integrating AI technologies.

Digital Innovation in Sales & Marketing

DL E&C is also pioneering digital transformation in housing sales. Its “D-Virtual” solution, launched in 2022 as the first of its kind in the industry, provides consumers with a real-time virtual home visualization tool. Buyers can simulate more than 1 million combinations of interior materials and furniture options through a cyber model house.

The technology has already been applied to major projects, including Acro and e-Pyunhansesang brand complexes. It will be expanded significantly in the upcoming October launch of “Acro de Seocho” in Seoul, offering over 100 floor plan types and 60+ customizable options.

Cloud Transition and AI Talent Development in Petrochemicals

In the petrochemical sector, DL Chemical has completed the migration of 112 core business systems—including groupware and plant facility management—to a cloud environment by the end of 2023. The transition has improved system stability, processing speed, and overall productivity, while reducing fixed costs.

DL Chemical is also investing in talent development through its “DX-Innovation Academy,” which trains all employees in data analytics and generative AI utilization. In 2023, the company held a group-wide contest to apply generative AI in business, receiving 206 proposals and selecting 10 outstanding cases for implementation.
