LG Household & Health Care Ltd. (LG H&H) has initiated a voluntary retirement program targeting employees in its Beauty Division, including sales promoters and beauty trainers, as part of a broader restructuring effort to address declining performance in offline retail channels.
According to industry sources, the company is accepting applications until October 31 from regular employees aged 35 and older (born before December 31, 1990) working in department stores, duty-free shops, and related training roles. Applicants will be notified of the results between November 3–7, with final retirements effective November 21 following the handover period.
Employees who opt for the program will receive 20 months of base salary as severance, along with additional support payments. LG H&H will also provide education subsidies — ₩5 million for middle school, ₩7 million for high school, and up to ₩15 million per year for university tuition (up to four semesters) per eligible child.
Industry analysts attribute the move to sluggish beauty sales, driven by weaker duty-free and department store demand. The company has been consolidating offline operations to streamline costs amid the changing retail environment.
