[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, South Korea – October 21, 2025 – The Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) has launched an investigation into Coway Co., Ltd., a leading home appliance and rental service company, over allegations of unfair business practices toward its sales agents.

According to industry sources, KFTC officials raided Coway’s headquarters earlier this month to secure internal documents related to the case. The probe focuses on claims that Coway imposed sales targets on its dealers and withheld sales incentives from those who failed to meet the quotas.

Authorities are also reviewing additional allegations, including requests for confidential business information, forced sharing of promotional costs, and retaliatory actions against dealers who resisted company directives.

Under Korea’s Fair Agency Transactions Act, suppliers are prohibited from using their superior bargaining position to coerce agents into meeting sales goals, transferring economic burdens, or facing disadvantages for noncompliance.
