[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Kwak No-jung, president of SK Hynix, predicted that the NAND Flash division will stop cutting production in the second half of next year.

"We are making a turn-around (The DRAM is rebounding), but NAND flash seems to be delayed, so we will flexibly decide to cut production while keeping an eye on the market," CEO Kwak told reporters after attending the 25th Semiconductor Show (SEDEX) held at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 26th.

SK Hynix has been cutting NAND flash since late last year. Industry sources predicted that SK Hynix may stop cutting NAND production as semiconductor prices hit rock bottom, but it is expected to be delayed up to next year due to changes in business conditions.

It also drew a line on the extension of the Cheongju M15X, which is scheduled to be completed in 2025. Kwak said, "Fabs always decide the size and timing of the expansion in consideration of demand," adding, "We are adjusting the timing rather than stopping it."
