[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hanwha Aerospace is targeting the UK market with the latest version of the K9, 'K9A2'. The British office was also recently opened to speed up the UK's next-generation self-propelled howitzers business (MFP).

According to the industry on the 12th, the K9A2 self-propelled howitzer package will be presented at the Global Defense Exhibition (DSEI), which will be held from 12th to 15th in London, England. The UK office was recently opened to challenge the UK MFP business through K9A2. The MFP project is worth about 1.2 trillion won, with Britain acquiring 116 next-generation self-propelled howitzers to replace its flagship AS90.

Hanwha Aerospace established a corporation in Poland in the first half of this year and recently completed the corporate registration process. Unlike Poland, the U.K. has reportedly set up an office first instead of a corporation as orders have yet to be finalized. Hanwha Aerospace has formed a 'Team Thunder' with a British defense company to carry out a local specialized order strategy.
