[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, August 18, 2025 – Mobile and online game developer Com2uS announced disciplinary and legal measures after an employee was caught abusing administrator privileges to conduct unauthorized in-game item trades.

According to an official notice, an “IMO” MMORPG team member (identified as Mr. A) was found in December 2024 to have illegally distributed test-only items, which should have been discarded after internal testing. The employee falsely reported their disposal and instead funneled them into external circulation. Following an internal investigation, he was immediately dismissed.

However, subsequent reports from users revealed that the former employee retained undisclosed test items and attempted further illicit transactions even after termination. Com2uS’ additional probe confirmed that while some of the items could not be retrieved—due to their indistinguishable attributes from standard in-game items—the company successfully recalled equipment and gems whose properties allowed for verification and tracing.

Com2uS emphasized its commitment to preventing recurrence, announcing measures including:

Stronger internal control systems

Enhanced ethics training for employees

Tighter audit and monitoring mechanisms

The company also confirmed it will pursue legal action against the former employee.
