[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] KT is the first of the three mobile carriers to file an administrative lawsuit against the Fair Trade Commission, which fined them for "5G hype."

SK Telecom and LG Uplus also filed an administrative lawsuit requesting the cancellation of the correction order and the entire fine.

According to the Seoul High Court on the 29th, KT filed an administrative suit against the FTC's sanctions on the 16th with the cancellation of the correction order.

Earlier, the FTC imposed a total of 33.6 billion won in fines on the three mobile telecommunication companies, saying they advertised the advertisement "5G, which is 20 times faster than LTE" as false and exaggerated as if it were the speed that consumers can enjoy in the actual use environment.

SK Telecom was fined 16.8 billion won, KT 139 billion won, and LG Uplus 2.8 billion won.

KT has appointed five lawyers, including Moon Jung-il and Kim Jin-hoon of the Pacific law firm, as legal representatives.

SK Telecom and LG Uplus also filed an administrative lawsuit against the cancellation of corrective orders and fines on the 18th.

SK Telecom has appointed six lawyers, including lawyer Park Kyu-tae and Baek Sang-hyun of Sejong Law Firm, as legal representatives. LG Uplus has appointed five lawyers, including Jeong Hwan and Jeong Da-ju, from the law firm Gwangjang.

An FTC official explained, "All three telecommunications companies have filed an administrative lawsuit against the cancellation of all fines."
