[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] A Korean Air flight from Incheon to Bangkok had to return to Jeju after a crack was detected in the cockpit window during the flight. About 270 passengers were transferred to a replacement flight and arrived in Bangkok approximately 8 hours later without any injuries.
According to Korean Air, Flight KE651, a Boeing 787-9, took off from Incheon International Airport at 6:05 PM and was en route to Bangkok when the crack in the cockpit windshield was suspected about an hour after takeoff. The flight was then diverted to Jeju Airport, the nearest airport.
After returning, Korean Air sent an Airbus A330-300 to transport the passengers. They were provided with food and beverages and arrived at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport at 5:53 AM on the 17th, 8 hours and 8 minutes later than originally scheduled.
