[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Ecopro Group has postponed its plan to hire a Pohang plant in the second half of this year to the first half of next year. The move takes into account management conditions such as sluggish secondary battery business and falling mineral prices due to the recent slowdown in demand for electric vehicles.

According to related industries on the 1st, Ecopro Group sent a notice to applicants for hiring new and experienced employees who will work at the Pohang campus the previous day that the recruitment schedule will be adjusted to the first half of next year.

The application was closed in the middle of last month. The recruiter of Ecopro said, "We will send you an email or text message right away when we proceed with the recruitment process in the first half of next year."

Previously, Ecopro Group was planning to recruit more workers for four teams and two shifts at its Pohang plant.

Ecopro recorded 65 billion won in operating profit in the third quarter of this year, down 69.3% from a year earlier. Operating profit of its affiliate EcoproBM fell 67.6% to 45.9 billion won and EcoProHN fell 11.8% to 11.5 billion won.
