POSCO International has signed a 300 billion won contract for eco-friendly car parts in North America

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] POSCO International is rapidly expanding its electric vehicle parts business such as decelerators and Drive Motorcore in the global market.

POSCO International said on the 6th that it has signed a contract with a major U.S. automaker to win 300 billion won worth of eco-friendly car parts. It is a decelerator, which is a key component of the electric vehicle driving system that was ordered this time. The contract size is 300 billion won. It will gradually supply to major North American automakers from next year to 2032.

In addition, POSCO International signed a contract with French carmaker HYVIA last month to win a total of 100 billion won worth of hydrogen car parts. In cooperation with domestic parts manufacturers, Hivia's new vehicle power conversion devices will be supplied from 2025.

POSCO International is also expanding its drive motor core business, a key component of electric vehicles. The goal is to establish a production system for more than 7 million units per year, including more than 2 million units in Korea and 5 million units overseas. By 2030, the company plans to increase its global market share of DriveMotercore to 10%.
