[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Business performance is improving this year as HJ Shipbuilding & Construction has secured a series of work in the construction and shipbuilding sectors.
HJ Shipbuilding & Construction said on the 20th that the balance of orders placed in the construction and shipbuilding sectors has increased to 7.4 trillion won, equivalent to four years' worth of construction. It also expects its operating performance to improve in the second half of the year as labor and material costs stabilize.
First of all, the construction sector secured 5 trillion won worth of construction, including the expansion of the second passenger terminal at Incheon International Airport.
In the housing sector, the company also won 600 billion won in orders.
The shipbuilding sector has also secured 2.4 trillion won worth of work, including 10 5,500-9000TEU eco-friendly container ships and various special ships such as defense, despite pressure to raise prices. As of the end of 2021, the balance of orders was 1.4 trillion won, but it increased sharply to 2.2 trillion won last year and has continued to rise this year.
