[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] It is expected that robots will be able to deliver food across the crosswalk from this month on Teheran-ro, Gangnam, Seoul.

Gangnam-gu, Seoul (head of the district office Cho Sung-myung) announced on the 7th that it will carry out a demonstration project to create a robot street in Teheran-ro that will allow Woowa Bros's robot "Dilli" to deliver food through the street in Teheran-ro by the end of this year.

Five organizations and companies, including Gangnam-gu, Seoul, LG Electronics, WTC Seoul and LX Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation, will participate in the project as consortiums. We will actually operate a delivery robot that runs indoors and outdoors around COEX Mall, judge the possibility of field application, and find improvements.

The consortium will separate the indoor delivery robot from the outdoor delivery robot, and the indoor delivery robot will receive food from the COEX Mall store, go to the entrance of COEX Seomun (Urban Airport Tower), and then hand it over to the outdoor robot, and the outdoor robot will deliver it to six designated buildings in Teheran-ro.

Woowa Bros introduced robots developed by domestic and foreign companies and conducted demonstration projects, but this time it decided to test robots developed with its own technology.

Gangnam-gu explained that it has repaired sidewalks and street trees to help robots drive autonomously, and installed stickers or banners to inform citizens that robots are going around.
