[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Megamart, an affiliate of Nongshim Group, has suspended the hiring process ahead of the final interview of a new employee applicant, citing worsening management.

Megamart planned to hire less than 10 new employees in purchasing (MD), planning, and marketing with the announcement of open recruitment of new college graduates in the second half of 2023 from October 5 to 19.

However, Megamart announced on the 15th that it had suspended the hiring process ahead of the final interview and sent an email apologizing to the applicants while conveying the facts.

Megamart's operating loss increased to KRW 14.8 billion in 2021. Last year, sales fell more than 10% year-on-year to KRW 450.3 billion with a deficit of KRW 7 billion.

A Mega Mart official said, "As our performance in October and November deteriorated, we had no choice but to stop hiring new employees as we had to consider restructuring next year. If applicants apply for the next recruitment, we will continue with the screening process that has been carried out so far." Mega Mart official added.
