[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Uber is introducing a new service allowing users to hail Uber taxis directly through the Naver Map app, targeting Korea's market leader, Kakao Mobility. Naver aims to evolve into an all-in-one mobility platform, offering services beyond taxi hailing, such as navigation and restaurant reservations.

According to the IT industry on Monday, Naver and Uber are in talks to integrate a function that enables users to call Uber taxis via Naver Map. If successful, users will be able to select an Uber taxi within the Naver Map app, which will then redirect them to the Uber app to complete the booking. The partnership is expected to be implemented within the year.

By leveraging Uber's global brand recognition, Naver anticipates attracting more foreign users, potentially expanding the user base of Naver Map and Naver as a whole.
