[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] NEXT Securities has successfully secured a strategic investment from Interactive Brokers, a major US-listed brokerage firm, marking the first time a Korean securities firm has received investment from a foreign-listed broker.

On March 11, NEXT Securities announced that it had raised 15 billion KRW in investment from Interactive Brokers. In this process, NEXT Securities was valued at 99 million USD (approximately 1.5 trillion KRW). The investment will be used to develop a new platform focused on AI-driven financial innovations.

NEXT Securities envisions creating a mobile trading system (MTS) based on an AI-powered financial platform that provides tailored investment experiences. Analysts believe that this strategic investment demonstrates the recognition of NEXT Securities' potential and future growth by a global financial giant. Kim Seung-yeon, CEO of NEXT Securities, said, "Based on this partnership, we will work towards establishing NEXT Securities as a new standard in the global financial market."

Interactive Brokers, listed on the Nasdaq, provides 24-hour automated execution and custody services for securities, commodities, foreign exchange, and derivatives through a single integrated platform. It offers customized financial services to a wide range of clients, including individual investors, hedge funds, prop trading firms, financial advisors, and brokers, helping clients efficiently manage their investment portfolios.
