[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Electronics held the 'WebOS Partner Summit 2023', which shares the ecosystem expansion strategy of the webOS platform, the LG Smart TV operating system.

The event, held at Magok LG Science Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, was attended by more than 300 content officials from 30 countries.

Park announced that the number of web OS-equipped devices will increase to 300 million by 2026.

The web OS, first introduced in 2014, is currently applied to 200 million devices, including LG Smart TVs and 300 other brand TVs worldwide.

In addition to TVs, LG Electronics plans to apply web OS to projectors, monitors, signage (commercial displays), and vehicles, and support stable development and content supply of partners through platform upgrades such as the latest UI·UX (user environment and experience).
