Netflix 'Queen of Tears' is the global number one

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] A new work by Park Ji-eun, who wrote popular dramas such as "The Legend of the Blue Sea" and "Crash Landing On You," and "Queen of Tears," starring Hallyu stars Kim Ji-won and Kim Soo-hyun, boasted unusual popularity and eventually became Netflix global No. 1.

tvN Saturday and Sunday drama "Queen of Tears," produced by Studio Dragon, proved its global syndrome by topping the global top 10 series (non-English) category rankings (March 25-31) released by Netflix on the 3rd. The cumulative viewing time recorded since its release on March 9 is 93.8 million hours.

"Queen of Tears" (played by Park Ji-eun / Director Jang Young-woo, Kim Hee-won / Production Studio Dragon, Cultural Warehouse, Showrunner) is a drama that tells the story of love between the third generation of the Queens Group conglomerate and the queen of the department store, Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won) and the son of the head of Yongdu-ri and supermarket prince Baek Hyun-woo (played by Kim Soo-hyun). It's on air on tvN, TVing and Netflix.

Major foreign media are also scrambling to highlight the global craze for 'Queen of Tears'. TIME, a leading U.S. media outlet, published an article titled "Queen of Tears, a fresh and worth seeing K-Romance that breaks old customs" on the 29th. 'Queen of Tears' is doing this by combining familiar and novel elements "We analyzed the global popularity factors.

Forbes said earlier, "Many K dramas end with 'and lived happily,' but 'Queen of Tears' begins at that point," adding, "It is not only a solid casting, but also a combination of talented writers and the two directors who boast a successful career."
