[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Yoon Hee-seong, the President of the Korea Export-Import Bank (KEXIM), announced that the bank will provide over 2 trillion won in guarantee support for Hyundai Rotem's arms exports to Poland, in collaboration with the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-SURE).

During a comprehensive audit session of the Planning and Finance Committee on the 29th, President Yoon responded to a question from Shin Young-dae, a member of the Democratic Party, regarding the support for Hyundai Rotem's arms exports.

In 2022, Hyundai Rotem signed a contract worth 4.5 trillion won with the Polish government to export 1,000 K2 tanks. Shin pointed out that while the first contract was valued at 4.5 trillion won, there is potential for a second contract exceeding 10 trillion won, questioning whether KEXIM could provide guarantees given its capital limitations.

In response, Yoon confirmed that joint support with K-SURE would make it possible to provide the necessary guarantees, stating, "We can sufficiently support it within our limits." He also mentioned that the guarantee amount would exceed 2 trillion won.
