[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Cho Chang-yeon, former advisor at BlueRun Ventures (BRV) Korea, has filed a fraud complaint against Yoon Kwan, CEO of BRV, amidst an ongoing civil lawsuit concerning the return of a loan.

Cho and Yoon are former classmates from Gyeonggi Elementary School and had previously collaborated closely on the sale and redevelopment of the Renaissance Hotel, a prime piece of real estate in Gangnam, Seoul.

Cho alleges that he lent Yoon 200 million KRW in cash during their business dealings, which Yoon has failed to repay, leading to the ongoing civil lawsuit in its second trial phase. In addition to the civil case, Cho has now pursued criminal charges against Yoon.

Cho is the grandson of the late Cho Jeong-goo, founder of Samboo Construction, while Yoon is the husband of Koo Yeon-kyung, the daughter of LG Group's former chairman Koo Bon-moo.

As of the 29th, it has been reported that Cho's legal representative, the law firm Gate, has submitted a formal complaint regarding Yoon's alleged fraud to the Gangnam Police Station. The police have accepted the complaint and assigned it to their investigative team. The interview with the complainant, Cho, is scheduled for 3 PM on the 31st.
